Plain talk: We are a homeowner guide and matching service, not a waterproofing contractor.

How this works — all of it, in the open

No fine print games. Here's exactly what this site is, what happens when you use it, and how we get paid.

What we are — and what we are not

We ARE

  • A free information guide written for Pittsburgh homeowners
  • A matching service that passes quote requests to one local waterproofing company
  • Run by people in Pittsburgh who got tired of homeowners being sold systems they didn't need

We are NOT

  • A waterproofing contractor — we own no trucks, no crews, no pumps
  • Able to inspect your basement, diagnose your problem, or quote your job
  • Responsible for any contractor's work — your contract is with the company you hire

The three steps

  1. You read and decide. Start with the cost guide so you know what a fair price looks like before anyone is standing in your basement with a clipboard.
  2. You send one request. The quote form asks what's happening in your basement, where you are, and how to reach you. That's it.
  3. One local company contacts you. We pass your request to a single Pittsburgh-area waterproofing company — our partner for this area. They schedule a free in-home estimate with you directly. You compare, you negotiate, you decide. If you don't like them, walk away; you owe nobody anything.

How we make money (the part most sites hide)

Our partner company pays us a referral fee for each quote request we pass along. That's the whole business model — the same basic model as Angi or HomeAdvisor, with one difference: they sell your request to several companies at once; we send it to one.

What happens to your information

Your form goes to us and to the one partner company — nobody else. We do not sell your information to mailing lists, data brokers, or a rotating cast of contractors. If we don't yet have a partner covering your part of town, we'll tell you that plainly instead of quietly passing your request around. Full details are in our privacy policy.

Prefer to find a company yourself? Good instinct — here's how: search the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Home Improvement Contractor registry to confirm any company is registered, check how long they've been in business, and always get the full scope and warranty in writing before paying a deposit.
